Wildlife Conservation Society Canada
WCS Canada saves wildlife and wild places in Canada through science, conservation action, and by inspiring people to value nature. WCS Canada scientists have been working in Yukon since 2007 conducting research on species, ecosystems, climate change, and cumulative effects, and providing scientific expertise on wildlife and natural resource policy, planning, and management. We collaborate with First Nations and other government partners on research, and work with First Nations on regional planning and Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas.

Undertaking a project to understand the cumulative effects of human disturbance and climate change stressors on wildlife and important habitat
-
A decision-support process for projecting climate change and its impacts on habitat supply for species at risk
Collaborating with government partners to evaluate changes in species distribution under different climate change scenarios
-
Characterizing and mapping of climate-change refugia and enduring features, and co-development of a monitoring framework, to enhance habitat protection and stewardship for priority species and ecosystems in Yukon South Beringia
Identifying and mapping climate-change refugia and enduring features across Yukon South Beringia, habitat refugia potential for a suite of plant and animal species, and a framework for monitoring these features and habitats over time.
